e46 alarm

hi all my alarm keeps going off on my 2002 e46 converable it has a hard top on and is driving me mad any one else had this problem thanks

The same thing happened to a friends x5 - turned out to be a faulty bonnet latch or something - best to take it to a specialist who should be able to sort it out for fairly cheap (his cost £20 to fix).

Btw his symptoms were the alarm would go off randomly - sometimes within 5 mins of setting it and sometimes within 5 hours.

Several issues with E46 convets....

The compartment sensors upto '05 were over sensitve,we were replacing loads in til then-2 sensors one infront of hand brake lever under centre console and at rear of centre console between rear seat and center console (under black or grey cover.
Both these leave an alarm trigger in the fault memory.

The other is the tilt sensor which is starting to become common on alot Bms at the mo.It fills with condensation and is located in boot o/s behind carpet trim.

Other less common issues are General module and siren

thanks for that it has not gone of today i have slamed the boot and bonnet down as i was told it could be that
