So as far as im aware 3.0 has single pick up, GT & evo have twin (& a diferent oil pump?)

I'm happy enough to track 3.0 on road rubber & even at the 'ring or tracks without mega G corners on sticky rubber, as I know lots of folks who had no issues. However tracking on sticky rubber on high speed bends on the single oil pick up does worry me slightly.

I feel beemer didnt use the twin pickups on the GT just for a laugh & a new engine if I lunch this one woulds flippin bancrupt me, whats your thoughts chaps?

cheers

Just put an extra few litres of the slimy stuff in mate...that should sort things round the bends silly

My thoughts would be to fit the Evo sump and pick up, much better for track use

I agree with Taffy, Evo sump and pump to be sure. Adding oil over the max mark can cause oil to spill out of the breathers!

you could have a look on e30zone.net a lot of people putting s50's into E30's these days and they need put on a 5series sump to make it fit, so pretty good chance you could find a evo sump and pick up's for sale wink

when i tracked the evo at donnington, i never saw the oil pressure light come on so i assume it was ok.

i did however find that the fuel level had to be kept up to over half as i was suffering fuel stavation coming out of coppice
