Cherish or not
Discussion
Cherished plate: D1 FOR.
Had it on my TVR for 3 years - no problems. Decided not to put it on my E46 M3 as I felt it would attract the wrong attention. New M3 arrives in Feb - do I put it on?
The TVR got loads of respect; British car, unusual, great looking. The plate was fitting for this car.
M3 - I feel it Will not get the same respect; seen as brash, leary and will be more common. May attract unwanted attention. On the otherhand, this model is it's early days and will be fairly rare for a while.
I'll probably keep the car for 2-3 years. Don't want to leave the plate on retention, seems a waste and I don't want to sell it either.
I'm thinking leave it off but the jury is still out. What do you reckon?

Tis fine, as long as you keep it just like in your profile, ie standard lettering, no number 2 before it. Private plates only stick out when they are in a bad font or are misspelt.
And anyway, I dont think a plate attracts a keying (worst form of attention), its more the car itself. Imagine your M3 and a clio parked on either side of the street, if a undesirable comes down the road I can guess which is more likely to get jumped on...

Hi Steve, hope you're well!
Will be back with TVR one day, loved every minute of my Chimaera. Having two kids and a missus saying I need four proper seats left me with no choice but an M3.
I'll stick it on
P.S - what you doing sniffing around here?
