Ipod connected - but no cd multi changer?

Went to see a M3 coupe today. The owner had had his ipod connected so that it worked off the steering wheel buttons, he maintains it was done by his BMW dealer. However the cd multichanger is non functioning and there was no TV function on the widescreen sat nav.

Anybody had an ipod fitted where this has been done, seems odd to me, losing two good functions for the sake of an ipod!

If he went for an Icelink Plus connection, then it would replace the CD changer, which IMO is fine, as it is rendered useless when you have all your CDs on the Ipod anyway.

As for the TV function, then no: Either it doesn't have TV or there is a problem with it, but it shouldn't have anything to do with the Ipod connection.
