E92 rev counter

This is really starting to bug me now. The rev counter bears almost zero relevance to how quickly the engine is spinning. It seems to be "average number of revs in the last 0.5 seconds" rather than "revs engine is spinning at right this moment"

I assume the rev counter is software; it takes a reading from the engine management and dampens it to give a nice smooth needle movement. I find it very frustrating, especially at low engine speeds.

Anyone else bugged by it? Wonder if it can be changed.
