Just wanted to share the news ! Finally picking up my 2004 M3 - first real performance car I've ever had (though I driven a few inc. 911s). Was tempted between this and the 996, but for space, cost etc. I plumped for this (as my wife describes it - "its a five seater porsche" !!

So now to work out how to post pics so I can share my new baby with everyone !!!

Congratulations - thought you'd go for the M3!

I use P21s multi surface restorer polish which I bought from www.vertar.com... They and also cleanyourcar.co.uk ; www.cleanandshiney.co.uk; come well recommended from the guys on www.mtorque.co.uk (formerly bm3w.co.uk)

Look forward to seeing the pics of your new car - enjoy, I'm sure you will...

Got it today and its brilliant - been driving for hours !

Will get pics up in a bit.

Out of interest does anyone know how I can make use of the "telephone package". I was hoping it would connect via. bluetooth but looks like I need a bmw phone?

Well done - it's a cracking car isn't it?!

Presuming you have the bluetooth functionality then you'll need to pair your phone and the car as follows:

Ignition key in position 0

Hold the telephone button (above the phone storage compartment) then after about 3 seconds turn the ignition key to position 1 and then release the button after approx another 3 seconds.

"Bluetooth Pairing" appears on the display or monitor.

You'll then get a request to enter the PIN or code on your mobile phone - this is the Bluetooth Passkey which should have been supplied in the car's literature when you picked it up.

Enter the Bluetooth Passkey on your mobile and confirm the input and you should see a message saying "Pairing Succeeded" briefly displayed on the monitor.

To finish the pairing process turn the ignition key back to position 0.

Next time you use the mobile inside the car, provided ignition key is in position 1 or beyond, the phone will be identified within about 30 seconds.

If you've not got Bluetooth functionality, then BMW should be able to sell you a phone adapter which fits in the centre console (beside handbrake), but this list is limited by the age of car so you're best going to your local BMW garage so they can take a note of your VIN and they'll let you know what options you have.

Hope this helps!
