M3 E46 Starting Problems

My M3 currently won’t start. The problem has just started tonight without warning. When you turn the ignition the Engine warning light stays alight. Then when you turn the key to start the engine it doesn’t even try to start (i.e doesn’t turn over) the headlights just flash rapidly and most of the other warning lights come on. Has anyone even experienced this, I’m wondering if its just as simple as my battery is on the way out and with the cold weather its finally given up to ghost. Or is there something more serious going on?

Sounds like flat battery to me

Agreed. Almost definitely a flat battery or loose battery terminal.

Is the headlight flashing normal behaviour for a flat battery? I’ve even when their set to the off position.

Just to let you know it was the battery, jump started it this morning from my other car. New battery on the way!
