We've discussed this to death, but these fabulous cars now available in top spec and low mileage for under £31k as BMW Approved Used:

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_details/0,,1260...

Folks keep saying they can't go any lower, but every time I reach for the cheque book, I think "no, wait another month".

I checked only last night to see if they'd dropped any more. My 07 with great spec was £33k with only 2500 miles, that was back in September. I couldn't find an 07 that met my requirements on thier used website for less money. I think they've levelled out now. Get your cheque book out and stop worrying, you won't regret it, if you want a really cheap one there's a red one on the trader with crap spec for £29k.

Yeah i'd agree, that car is over 1 year old mind you, I only paid a 3k more for a mar 07 in July wiht better spec and 261miles on the clock, so if my car is worth that next july then it would have cost me 3k in depreciation, excellent for a car like this and far less than the M3 ever was, stop worrying and do it, it's the best car sub 40k ever IMO

I have just turned 20k on mine - bought it with 3k on the clock from Lovett's in March... More than 150 laps of the Ring, 2 track days at Combe, 1 at Abbeville and it has not missed a beat. Definitely the best sub £40k car ever...

yup thats why i bought one smile as above though there aren't any at the same age (july 07) and mileage(2100) as the one i got so hopefully prices have settled

i read on another board that this current batch was the last of the BMW cars and production is now winding down, so prices may even go up a little, just look at CSL's... well we can live in hope wink

Just buy one!! They are not still dropping.

2 months ago I paid £31,000 + 1 yrs road tax (= £30,700) for my 1,800 mile 2007/56 with virtually the same spec as this one, except mine has Piano Black trim. I have still not seen a like for like car that is better value than that.

So thats 2 months of depreciation free motoring you have already missed out on.

I'm beginning to adore this car, must say - but is a Caymen not the preferred option?

I think it is widely accepted that the Cayman S is the better car. But for like for like spec and age, you are talking about a £10-£15k price difference.

Is it that much better?????

I also think the Z4MC has bags more character.

I drove a Cayman before deciding on the MC, it handled very well indeed, you could tighten the line mid bend without a hint of complaint. However it lacked soul, and was a bit underpowered. And without a proper diff for £12k more, I think not. Nice motor but not for me, it is still a poor mans Porsche (although not that poor @ £45k)!!

And Porsche still don't do a fecking IPod connect kit or built in Blue tooth phone package. That PCM phone kit where you have to put your SIM card in the PCM unit is just so last decade. And as said, the 295hp motor just isn't as entertaining, nice as it is. I also think the new Porsches have lost alot of the interior design character of the 986/996, although with much improved materials. ARE YOU LISTENING PORSCHE??!

Anyone had a PCP on one of these? I was wondering how affordable it might be.

Hi Matt - yeah, I have, although I bought a new one so the 50% balloon that's on mine may not apply...depends on the deals available. Basically, mine was £4500 down and £500 per month over 3 years.

Yes, indeed the mileage is a factor of course...for mine, it was 10K PA.

I thought at a £30kish starting price they would have a pretty good residual after 3 years and be relaitvely affordable. I would prob do less than 6k p.a. in it. I might just contact a dealer and see what they quote.

Good idea, but remeber to push hard on the rate, and the baloon. They can always do better than the first, and proberbly the second qoute.

My £31k Z4MC was £100 p/month less than the £26k M5 I had before. Based on same mileage and term.

Let me know how you get on with the finance quote please. Very interested to know what a £30k car with ~ 10k miles on would cost over 3 years at 10,000 mpa.
