quick question for all you Z4 m owners, when your filling her up at the petrol station normally it would click off but nooo not my z4m it seems that instead when the tank is brimmmed the petrol sprays everywhere in dramatic fashion and today i was on my way to an important meeting and couldnt make it for abvious reasons, does anyone else have this problem? BMW says they've never had a reported problem, maybe a blocked breather? anyone shed any light on this for me?

I filled mine up today and it clicked. It has clicked everytime I have filled up. It does sound like something is not right with yours though.

Not me, mine clicks off as normal. I did have this once a while ago, on my Alpina. Covered me in petrol, very dramatic as I wasn't paying attention. The shop assistant informed me it had been doing that all day!!!

I would guess its something wrong with the pump, rather than the car.

Yeah, I think if the pump has a problem like that they either have to close the station or the attendant must pump the fuel themself.

It isn't the car that clicks - it is the pump. Had it happen to me in belgium, was chatting to a mate and didn't notice it for about 3 litres smile

I have experienced exactly the same problem... It hasn't been consistent for me.

Also, I saw a Z4M in Marlow a month or two ago, and it obviously had a similar problem. There was a nice fuel stain below the filler.

Personally, at first I thought it was a one off - after the first time, the following fill at a different Shell garage did the same thing..

I don't fully tank it anymore, take it to about 7/8ths .....

PaulB..
