its not slipping or juddering or anything, but its impossible to drive smoothly.the clutch is either on or off, like driving one with a paddle clutch.
having not driven one before i am not sure if this is normal or not?
do i need a new clutch or is this how they are. the car has done 143000 miles and has never had one as far as i know.

thanks,bryan

Is it like this all the time or only when you've been driving it a while?

If it's when everything is all warmed up it looks like you need a braided clutch hose.

Nah, it's to do with the expansion of the fluid under compression. The std rubber hoses are not up to the job hence why the biting point is near the floor. A braded brake hose should get you about another inch in travel. Well worth it so I have heard and will be doing it on mine as and when I need a clutch.

Clutch kits by the way....GSF sell OEM Saches kits for about £200.

just looked in the records and it had a clutch and flywheel under warranty at 61k miles in 2001. so its probably about ready for one.
