Was stopped by a friendly traffic cop last week regarding my tinted windows...
After much a debate he offered to rip them off there and then...how helpful!!
instead i took a fine and ticket from the man.....I DONT WANT THEM TO BE REMOVED!!!!!

Did he test them with the appropriate equipment or just form an opinion that they don't let enough light through?

Hi Colin.
Somehow I don't think window tinting film glue will damage glass.

No mate i know that glue wont damage it, but the way in which it is removed might?? i dont know how they do it. if they scrape at it, heat it or put some sort of solution on it.

Hi Colin.
Just pick at the edge with your finger nail and then peel it off.

Just use a solvent. I'm sure autoglym do one. If nothing else their dry cleaning fluid will do it.

Were the tints done by BMW do you know? I've got tinted windows on my E46 M3. The previous owner said they were done by BMW which makes me think they wouldn't do it if they were too dark/illegal (or am I too trustworthy).

Just heat them up and rip them off and then just spray them with soapy water and use a glass scraper to remove the excess, easy peasy

DL-C Your too trusting im afraid.
A mate of mine just got his new X5 tinted by our local BMW garage......on the way home was pulled and fined

its NOT upto the garage...its up to the driver apparently.....also Tinted windows are not looked at in MOT's also

I find it amusing that polce bikes can use dark visors......double standards i think
