In my last car I used to use road tyres and wheels, each trackday would end up costing a fortune in pads, disks, tyres etc.

I now have an '03 M3 E46 and was thinking about a second set of wheels and some slicks for trackdays. Once i started looking i noticed that no-one has 19" slicks.......So was gonna get some 18's that are a bit chipped and paint em black and put some slicks on for trackdays. Anyone else doig this, any recommednatiosn on tyres? Can i use an AP / brembo big brake kit with 18's?

Do you mean true slicks or track day tyres e.g. Toyo R888's?
Check with your track day company if you intend to run race slicks as some companies require a roll cage fitted if you do.

Most of the slicks are made in 18" to suit GT cars, if i was going to do it then yes a set of 18" wheels makes perfect sense
