BMW E46 M3 GEARBOX RATTLE...

Can anyone give me some advice??

I have an 02 M3 cab thats seems to give a little rattle when you put the clutch in.
It only happens when manouvreing in reverse or 1st or in traffic. Only when you pull the clutch out and put it almost immediately back in, just to get moving... Can anyone help or share experiences??

Im due to take it to my BM specialist - Smiths BM later today for them to have a listen...

It's a similar box to what was fitted to the e36 M3EVO. and that rattles when cold as well. Nothing to worry about. If it's all working properly then relax.

I just bought an '03 E46 M3, and I could hear a rattle when pulling away or stop starting in traffic, they just replaced my diff and all is now fine.

That sounds like good news. Can I ask how much the Diff was and was it done by an independant specialist or main dealer??

Cos i bought the car from a dealer,was covered under warranty. Not sure how much actual parts are, but was in the garage for 2 days......
