Can it be done?

Should it be done?

Will I get done?

Where can it be done?

Just toying with the idea, its either that or an M3 (sans LPG). I just have a bit of a "thing" for the M5 but couldnt stomache £120 per week petrol bills for the commute.

Any thoughts?

I'm sure it could be done, but quite sure it shouldn't be done...

M5 doesn't rime with parsimonious MPG, IMHO

No not really, it wont like the Twin Vanos & the engine wont like it after around 5000miles..........cheapest way ,buy a banger then buy a nice week end M3/M5

Rather than seek the opinions of a lot of people who probably don't know what they are talking about or have pre-conceived ideas about LPG, call these guys:

http://www.afs.uk.com/

The only thing I would say is expect a 5% power loss and budget at least 2.5k for a decent V8 conversion.

Might be worth considering a 540 as you'll get more power by the time it is re-mapped. This has been confirmed on dyno's.

With decent mileage ie 14,000 a year you will save money at the moment and cover your costs within 2 years! There will be a slight powerloss but the kits used these days are amazing. Don't be put off by those with no knowledge or experience!

These guys do a top job and I have spoken to them about my Lexus LS 400 and they have done a number of very good M3's etc

I'd guess its not worth it for three reasons 1) you have to do quite a mileage to make it worth it, 2) you'll loose power, 3) i think it will devestate the resale value.

LPG conversions these days offer dual fuel capabilities. At the flick of a switch you can use Shell V-Power or BP Ultimate etc, but when cruising or commuting you can use LPG and save a ton of money when sitting on a motorway going nowhere or stuck in a traffic jam. It also gives you a huge range and in Europe makes great sense when LPG is way cheaper than here and on sale at every major filling station!!!

I agree but just look at what the Max Power people do to E30's and E 46's. NOS conversions are just the other side of the coin to LPG!!

Cheers chaps.

Given the prices I think I may have to go down the M3 route (shucks). TBH given that my commute is nearly all B road and only a couple of miles of ton plus dual carraigeway, it's probably for the best anyway (this is why it would cost me £120 per week in petrol alone).
