Hello All, after deliberating long and hard ( well, if I am honest, it took me about 3 hours ) and putting up a post here asking if anyone knew of any cars up for sale, PRESTO!, I found a Sapphire Black '07 Z4 M with 1,500 mls on it for £32,850 including 12 months rent and a splash of fuel!, not bad 'eh?
Now, I haven't even seen the car in the flesh or even driven one yet but time constraints and all that type of thing somewhat prohibited that and I am confident since reading through back topics on here that I will not be disappointed.
And now, the question; I want to achieve CSL power ( 360 bhp ish ), how best will this be achieved?
I will be ordering a strut brace tomorrow in readiness for collection of the car and am thinking of fitting uprated pads/stainless brake lines and DoT 5 brake fluid to sharpen the brakes a little. I will see what they are like to live with and if they feel a little lack lustre will look to upgrade to AP next year.
M3Desmo is a pal from on here and has a CSL himself and has already given me some useful info but I would be glad to hear of any more theories or practical experiences that work.
Thank you all in advance and I will be back soon no doubt,

Wayne.

I posted this before, http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/2046... it refers to DoctorD's old car, and covers a few mods that sharpened the car up a little. Ditching the standard rubber seemed to be a significant improvement with fitment of CSL alloys for less unsprung weight. Looks like you've already got the strut brace covered.
Not sure how you're gonna get another 20bhp or so. Can't imagine it'd be cheap - maybe new exhaust system and some airbox mods with a re-map would take you close. (DMS quote some quite good figures for the E46 M3).
Good luck for when you get the car....thumbup

Paul, I have lost over 1.5 stone in 8 weeks and so that part of the tuning process is already on course yes
I will let you know when the goods are in my possession and will more than likely come over and see you. After speaking to M3Desmo he has given me the number of a firm in Gloucestershire and I am taking the car there for a re-map, filter, sports cats and chassis alignment and may swing by to see you on the way back, it may bode well to show you how a modern day M Power car performs hehe

Gaining 20 bhp from the Z4M is not going to that hard if you go to the right place.

You can start by adding a genuine GruppeM intake kit which will add around 5-7 BHP over 5500 rpm and make extremely nice noises! It won't be far off CSL intake noise but not quite if you know what I mean!

There are some videos on YouTube with Z4M's fitted with this intake.

Thanks
Sal

a part from the link I gave there are a lot manufactures under it..but if you want to gain real power from the S54 maybe 500 or 720hp at the flywheel sounds good?

This conversion is available either as a Stage 1 low pressure bolt on kit (approx 550 bhp at flywheel) OR a Stage 2 complete higher boost conversion including new pistons, con rods and bearings (approx 720 bhp at flywheel).
