Hi, I'm fairly new to E30 m3 ownership and I'm loving it. I am the proud owner of a henna red 1987 M3 which is in superb condition. I've seen several pics of other E30 M3's with a flap on the rear boot spoiler, Does anyone know if this flap specific to the late evo models or can I fit one to a standard M3 spoiler. If so can anyone point me in the right direction as where I can get one.
I've seen a carbon fibre one on the C3 website, which looks superb, but the close up pic looks like the underside of the spoiler is shaped to fit the flap.
The carbon fiber flap is just the look that I am after.
Any advise is appreciated.
Cheers guys.

I think you need the Evo sport spoiler and the flap, I think you can get non original parts but there far from cheap which is why i have nver rushed to buy one.

might be worth asking on s14.net

The spoiler you mention was only fitted to the Sport Evo limited edition model of 600 cars. C3 sells the orginal part and a carbon copy. The main part of the spolier has a recess for the flap to slide from its fully lowered flush postion, to a fully raised postion. Your orginal spolier won't be of any use unless to buy a flap only and bolt is to your original - and that will look ugly.
The C3 carbon copy is showing the carbon weave only on the flap, the main spoiler body will need painting. It also attaches the flap with slightly differently using larger screws. Unless you have a stack of money for an orginal part, C3's carbon replica is probably the way to go.

I know people who make good quality Fibre Glass copies - they won't be the same quality as OEM, but are a lot cheaper! http://www.m3grp.co.uk/

I think you need to do a lot of Forum reading before doing anything to your car or you risk regreting the money spent.

if you're going to fit a sport evo rear spoler with adjustable wing I'd go the whole hog and fit the chin spoiler too

Yes, putting a Sport Evo rear spoiler will affect your high speed handling, I'm not saying you'll be understeering at 100mph but the SE was fitted with adjustable front and rears for a reason, its makes sense to fit both together.
Get over to s14.net, huge wealth of knowledge there, plus the yanks love bolting bits on and never got the evo models so have good experience of this.
Whatever you do, don't damage your boot lid or sell your originla spoiler as one day you will possibly regret it.
Well done on owning one of the best drivers cars ever, I do miss mine from time to time.
