sat nav upgradable???????

Hi all, soon be christmas!! can anyone tell me how to check if the sat nav in my car can be upgraded with just a disc. I have a 2000 model m5 facelift with the widescreen, anyones advice would be appreciated.

You would have a MK3 (CD-rom based) nav computer. You can update the disc, but if you really want to have a nice upgrade, go on ebay and get a MK4 (DVD based), which is plug'n play. Should be able to find one for £300 and sell your old one on for £100-150.
