I am thinking of getting the ipod/idrive widget fitted which enables you to control your ipod through the idrive. is it wirth the £500 or so quid they charge for it? any thing else I should be aware of?

You might be able to fit a phatnoise phatbox in there, I just put on in my Z4MC, 80gig hardrive in the boot, contrlled from the standard controls, top upgrade, google 'phatnoise bmw'.
