Anyone got any particular preference in either Esso Supreme or BP Ultimate as I only have access to either of these, or would you simply run on regular unleaded? The car in question is a 2003 e46 M3, thanks for any replies!

Mark.

No idea about Esso but I have run both Ultimate & VPower extensively in my e36 Evo. Ultimate is my choice. Car just feels a b it more urgent.

It will take more than a tank or three to notice any real difference between 'brands'. I doubt that there is much difference between blends, it may just boil down to cost per litre and location.

I read something recently that said Shell V power, and Tesco 99 were considered the best two, with almost identical performence figures. Although it said Shell V Power was a tiny fraction better. But Tesco 99 is considerably cheaper, and if you live close enough to a big Tesco that sells it, its the best one to buy.

have to agree with Vixpy, i run the same car as e36guy (m3 evo), but feel the car is slightly more sluggish on ultimate when compared with V power or tesco 99...... if i had a choice i wouldnt use either ultimate or esso, but if i had to pick i would say esso cos its slightly less sluggish than ultimate (if that makes sense)

cheers

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I can only get my hands on Esso Supreme or BP Ultimate but I think I'll put the Supreme in after the response, besides it's also 4p a litre cheaper than the Ultimate!!
