What's the news on M5 depreciation?

Having decided against the new M3, I'm now considering other options, including an M5.
The residuals on these seemed pretty solid at first, but I've heard they've begun to slide - is now a good time to buy?
I suppose as these cars come out of manufacturer's warranty, and also as the mileage gets closer to 60k miles (point at which the BMW warranty costs nearly £2k per annum) values will suffer. The £250 excess on the warranty is like an additional tax - I have no doubt this will affect all M cars. The residuals on these seemed pretty solid at first, but I've heard they've begun to slide - is now a good time to buy?
its just getting so bad for the M5 at the mo,i simply cant understand it,i never thought it would get this bad.Ive seen a person pick up a 55 plate for £38/39k although it had 37k on the clock, but still fully loaded(logic 7/HUD etc)and ive now seen some at £43k at bmw dealers, infact just been on autotrader and there are 7 cars in the auc range starting from £43-47k.I too am contemplating E60 ownership, but if im chucking £40k at it now in a years time id need at least £33k back after putting on approx 10k on the clock for it to be remotely viable for me,at these prices i dont know if that is acheivable.

This is great news for me as it means I'll be able to buy a 6 year old model with less than 100,000 miles on it for £15k (e34 and e39 were at similar levels at the same age).
EDC parts are cheaper for the E60/61 than they are on the e34 as well.
You'de better have another 15K for repairs put to one side .EDC parts are cheaper for the E60/61 than they are on the e34 as well.

Its a sign MTorque is down at the moment if he is in here posting on the BMW forums. He will of course try to come across as objective, level of head and open of mind, but to sample his true colours you need to read some of his posts on the Audi forums. I say this as a former BMW owner, and an Audi owner of past AND present!
We love you Johny boy, keep it up..
The BMW AUC starting price seems to be £44k (perhaps £42k after haggling).
Nice example here with all the bits:

What would that have been new two years ago?

im sorry i didnt quite understand your post. Are you suggesting that the E60 M5 is a no good car?
Sorry is it me to respond?, I am not saying the M5 is not without doubt a powerhouse and very fast bus, BUT it has inherent problems with the Vanao's (Valve train) in particular, buy one outside the warantee period is a "lottery".This
Will explain a bit of it.

B*llocks, have you ever owned the M5 na, could not even afford a lift in one dry up, if they were good I'd drive one.

How can someone make so many edits and still fail to construct a sentance that makes sense? PS) Your Pie and Pint have gone to your head mate.

You trying to 'flash your wad' and imply that I am not able to afford an M5 or even a lift in one? Not sure how you came to that conclusion actually, but keep digging.
