Sorry to raise this topic again but what is the view on Z4MC depreciation ? Are they stopping production this year . Is a new engine going to be dropped in later thsi year?

I bought a Boxster S in Jan for £33000 v list of $47000 when new so that person suffered £14000 in 17 months on ownership . A fact of life with cars but current Z4MC depreciation is evil - makes it a good buy provided the slide goes from vertical to more horizontal!

Plus I need to factor in £2000 to add CSL alloys + tyres to make it look the part

Just looked again at the BMW AUC website.

I reckon the £30k level is about to be 'tested'.

There's a mass of good to superb spec cars between £30k and £33k.

At the moment there are 14 ZMCs under £33k on the AUC website - and several Z4M Roadsters under £30k.

Does anyone have a good reasn as to why they have/are depreciating so quickly? or is it my imagination...

i'm going to start looking for one, and as someone who changes thier cars very frequently, getting smoked on re-sale/px is a fact of life, and i accept it. But i'm puzzled...

Easy.

1) Too expensive new
2) Too much production around launch time, lots of demos/press cars/BMW uk cars
3) Very limited market for a 2 seater hardtop

I still firmly believe that once this glut of cars have found homes, the prices will firm up.
The only cars being built new now, are cars that have been ordered by genuine customers, who want a brand new car(nutters).

In addition to the above, BMW UK are putting a lot of their staff/training cars through the dealer network at keen prices. This won't go on forever so now is a good time to buy a Z4M.

You only have to look around on the car forums to see the increased interest in the Z4M's now the prices are more feasible. If dealers are getting more interest in these car's they are less likely to do "deals" as such as they will be more confident in getting the prices they put them up for.

I think the major hit on value has been and gone and things will firm up and in fact are already. Once the BMW staff cars are sold there wont be many more coming on to the market.

Since yesterday, 14 has become 9. If you refine the search to include Sat Nav, there are only 4 under £33k.

These cars are selling like hot cakes. In fact last week when I searched there was 4 and bit pages of cars, now there are only 2 and half in total. Im sure there will be a few more coming out of BMW Uk yet, but at this rate Im even more certain that they have found their price level, and wont move for a while.

If you thinking of buying one, my advise would be "place your bets now".

Not surprising. They must be one of the best BMW buys we have ever seen.

Temptation. Dither. Temptation. Used M5. Temptation. Dither.

The only positive action I have taken is to cancel the E92 M3.

I would agree, I don't think the E92 M3 was as special as we hoped.....

If you are interest in a roadster mine is listed for sale under classifieds and IMMACULATE. Only £28,750 ! Sorry to mention it here but it does seem relevant. Think the roadsters have dropped in value due to seasonality only, winter is never a great time to be a seller but a great time to be a buyer. Anyway, mut move on - collect my 911 next week and cannot wait.

I know, but it seems that people are getting them out of the AUC network for the excellent condition trade price which. As long as there are Z3MC's out the for 20k these cars look stupidly cheap.
