Having recently purchased an E36 M3 3.0 it is costing a little to get the niggles out of the way. ALready had a stainless exhaust made front & rear (excl cat), and now sorted that have a couple of issues. The engine (note NOT mechanically minded) is a little tapperty when ticking over. Sounds sweet when driving / on the loud button. It has 4 lights 'til service but i am waiting for the service book to come through as it was mislaid when i collected the car, to see which service it's due! Guessing on a Insp 2, hence need a reputable independant in above area. Car has 106k.
The second, very minor issue is the hood occassionaly stops once it has lifted the rear deck (i'd call it stage 2) the front goes back, then drops back down before collapsing into the rear. Only happens occassionally and when it does if you help with a slight push up it carries on no problems.....
One more, none of the elctric mirrors work??? Fuse location is step one.....i'll come back when i have checked unless someone has a suggestion.

Thanks, hope i haven't bought a bad one. (5 owners, FSH (hopefully) in right colour and condition) & Sunny days.....

Firstly welcome to PH smile
You may find the sensor in the roof is faulty, I had mine replaced in the Z3M when it would not finish the close properly, if so should be cheap to fix smile

The best Indy around the Forest area (in my experience) is Gloucester BMW Specialists 01452 300150. 12 Eastern Avenue, Eastville Close, Gloucester, GL4 3SJ.

Have used them for the last 3 years on my 5er, be warned though, not a place just to turn up as they are normally very busy. They have a good knowledge of M cars and I normally see at least another 1 in there each time they have my car.

You can either sit and wait, or if you give a bit of notice they'll let you have a run-about for the day (normally a Corsa.

Beemer Redeemer in Bristol are recommended. Bunch of ex-BMW Technicians doing their own thing. Servicing costs very reasonable and they are passionate about the Marque which always helps!

Do you not do foreigners at the mo........(here's hoping). I don't expect the world, just the hood would be good cuz it's killing me not having the roof down in the nice weather. If you fancy it, weekend or whatever. Give me a shout / text. Craig 07814 005539
