does anyone know the best way to connect an i pod to my e46 m3. i have been quoted £250 at the dealer but this is twice as much as the i pod!!.
the fella at the dealer says it will show all the i pod display on the screen but i still dont think its worth that much.
is there an easier way or should i say cheaper?

Try a car audio shop, should be cheaper than a dealer

Have you tried the Denison Ice Link. Should be around £110 and you can fit yourself...

Also Intravee is a good bet, but the waiting times for units to be manufactured are quite long, I'm currently entering my 6th week of waiting.

i've got the Denison.

if you've go the pro sat nav it's a mare to fit as you've got to run wires from front to rear and then back again.

works well though

not very hands on to be honest, do either of these still maintain the use of the steering wheel buttons to control things like track choice etc ?

just had dension ice link fitted to mine, it took the stereo shop guys 4 hours to fit! works well, but the only thing you can control from the steering wheel is the volume.

The intravee system is excellent. Must have taken me all of about 20 minutes to fit. I can see what tracks are playing on the widescreen and can search and control tracks very easily. iPod sits in boot where CD changer used to be - you can install it inside the cabin if you want, but most owners stick it in the boot and forget about it.

You'll need the Intravee (approx £125) and the Kenwood KCA420i (around £60) to link the intravee to the BMW system.

Worth every penny in my book!

I think www.bimmernav.com were stocking the Intravee system - alternatively go to www.intravention.co.uk and sign up there for more details!
