BMW 3G EWS alarm

After trying to programme my alarm fobs, I managed to damage the receiver switch. I bought a replacement receiver from BMW. The problem is that the alarm is now armed and won't allow fob programming. How do you disable the alarm without a remote fob? BTW the car in question is a 97 M3 convertible with the 2 button remote. Thx in advance.
