Z4 M Coupe Gets Tango'd By AC Schnitzer
And it isn't just the orange paintwork that you'll find offensive
German Tuning firm AC Schnitzer has turned its attention to BMW's Z4 M Coupe, to create this very orange PROFILE concept.
The Pistonheads office will be first to admit that in standard 338bhp guise, the Z4 M Coupe is far from sluggish. However, AC Schnitzer's tuning mods now help the 3.2 litre straight six push out 350bhp. As a result, we can expect the 0-60mph time to duck underneath the 5sec barrier.
But doesn't this car just reek of tasteless aftermarket excess? Perhaps the two-tone paint job could work better with more subtle hues, but we're still not convinced by the stumpy little roof spoiler, or those chrome (and fake) wing vents that are supposed to hark back to the classic 507 sports coupe.
Discussion
Ugh, they've taken all the creases out of the sides, including the 'Z' one that goes through the side repeaters. It also looks like the swoopy crease down the side has gone, to be replaced by the white/orange paint boundary. But I'm assuming that's an optical illusion and the paint goes right up to the crease.
The only good thing is that the orange paint shows off the classic 50s coupe lines (long swoop over front wheel arches, comes down past the doors, goes up into a kink over the rear arches).
