What can a new Z4M Coupe be bought for?
Discussion
Just test drove a Z4M Coupe this morning, and was very impressed. Impressed to the point of discussing what deal they could do for me.
From reading a few posts on here, it seems a few have got some decent discounts. I told the sales lady I was interested at around the £34k - £35k mark for a new base spec one (I'd then add a couple of bits, but not much). She wasn't too taken aback at this target price, and is seeing what she can do.
My question is, what have other's paid for a new Z4M Coupe? If you don't want to post in public, I'd appreciate a PM. I want to understand if I should be asking for a bit more, if I'm about right, or if it's too aggressive to be realistic.
Cheers,
Will

Same here...I may be in the market for a Z4M Coupe also. Was looking at 07 cars with around 3,000 miles for between 36K and 38K at BMW dealers (decent option lists including sat nav etc). I offered 33k against one example, around 3k lower than asking price, I'm pretty sure I could get it for that.
If new ones are almost as cheap I could be tempted.

I bought one from a dealer about 4 months ago...brand new unreg'd. All the options I wanted which was just about everything minus the extended leather and the voice control thingy. List price just shy of £46K. I got it for £39K plus a £1500 contribution from BMW finance. If new ones are almost as cheap I could be tempted.
I think the climate for buying one now is better, and that you should be able to do a couple of grand better than I did on a new one (although I'm not sure if the finance offer is still there).
I had a look at Broadspeed and the prices are great...until you start specifying any options. The options don't seem to be discounted. So if you want a standard spec car, then go for it. Otherwise, BMW dealers seem to be just as good.

Willdew how did it compare with your 968? I'm looking for something with quick steering like an evo ix, a sort of s2000 cosy driving experience and a bit of grunt. The only thing that bothers be is its near 1500kg weight.
My 968 is very track oriented, so I'd been struggling to find anything that presses the right buttons for me.It feels very "solid" compared to the 968. Along with which, as you say, is weight. It's got enough extra power to feel that bit quicker, but with the sales lady in the passenger seat I didn't get a chance to really push it and feel what it's like when you go quick into a corner. (Don't get me wrong - she was very happy to let me play, but she was clearly slightly nervous). I'd be getting rid of the 968 if I went for one, and I liked it enough to consider it, which I've not done with anything else I've driven yet.
If she can do something competitive on price to make me think I can get a good deal, she's volunteered an extended test drive, which I'll take them up on before putting my money where my mouth is.
Like the M3, it's a car you need to 'learn' to get the best out of it. The motor feels quick when you first drive one...but actually, you don't get to experience the real performance of it until you've got it to yourself. A and B roads, in third and fourth gear at above 5000rpm and it really flies...
I love mine....and I was seriously worried that I wouldn't having been a Boxster owner before. I like it because it reminds me of my Chimaeras in alot of ways...loads of grunt, loads of noise, anti-social, un PC. Fantastic!

I effectively got 26% discount when you take into account the extra 3k I got on p/ex on a 3month old 261 mile car, doesn't make sense to buy new full stop
You did get a remarkable trade-in on your M3. I asked one dealer how they value CSL's, the answer was that they offer full M3 book on a CSL and 20% under book on an M3! Wish I knew what kind of mark-up BMW have on these cars?!!! Most of the 3 or 4 months old Z4MC's come straight from BMW UK, the dealer must get a damn good price on them.
