I'm putting the spec together at the moment for my order. I don't plan on keep it long, maybe 6 months. Would appreciate it if someone could let me know if I've missed anything obvious for resale value. I realise I'm taking a risk (with residuals) having it in white, but life's too short. I'm in turmoil about whether I should get the 19" wheels, as they'll probably be very popular.

External colour: Alpine white
Upholstery: Leather Novillo Black
223 – Electronic dampers
322 – Comfort access
4MX – Aluminium shadow interior trim
423 – Floor mats
508 – Park distance control
654 – DAB digital radio

I have no idea what these are, can anyone who knows the BMW product line a bit better enlighten me? The BMW website is not much use.
319 – Universal Remote Control
358 – Climate Comfort Screen
493 – Storage Compartment Pack
612 – BMW Assist
616 – BMW Online

Comfort access automatically unlocks the car when you get the "key" within a certain proximity.

For the beneift of anyone reading this thread, I've had an explanation from the dealer of what all the options were:

319 – Universal Remote Control
For use with electronic garages/gates.

358 – Climate Comfort Screen
Windscreen has particles to stop infrared radiation, so the Sun doesn't heat the car up as much. Also has a graduated tint.

493 – Storage Compartment Pack
Cargo net for the boot, and cup holders for the front.

612 – BMW Assist
If you crash, it calls the emergency services automatically.

616 – BMW Online
Let's you book hotels through your car.

Simplified explanations I'm sure, but enough to give you an idea of whether you want it or not.

Hi mate. In addition to above I've gone for 19"s, Elec Fold Mirrors, Heated Seats, Front Armrest, High Beam Assist,Blue Tooth, 6CD Changer,Hi-Fi upgrade,USB/audio interface.

Reckon your spec. is good for short term resale although colour is a brave choice! Cool though!

Blimey, you've ticked quite a few fancy options. Will be a very nice to live with having all that kit.

Brave or stupid? smile It's the only interesting colour in my eyes, although the cover shot on this month's Evo of their M3 test car in red looks awesome. (I suppose it would though, with fancy cameras and studio lighting.)

Not stupid - brave! IMO white is the best colour. I've gone of the darker of the silvers. Red looks good in pics. but goes dull unless spotless. Most of my extra options are quite small £s actually. Car is £55k and 192s account for a lot of that.

Is it that difficult to press the remote? Some stuff I do get, but not this.

Do you actually need a remote when using a key is so easy? :S

Keyless entry is the future, like double clutch gearboxes, radar cruise control, active dampers and small turbo engines. I think it will be cool. smile

Hmmn, that will take BMW Extended 'Insured' Warranty to £3k with a £750 excess by 2010.

Sounds like an ideal spec to me, the only things I'd add would be Bluetooth, heaated seats and iPod interface thingy. In fact, if you're selling after six months then let me know, I may be interested smile, at £40K of course.... wink
