yes me too, in fact I just have except a coupe depreciation is a nightmare to begin with but that's why it's at 30.5k, it has to slow down and there's simply nothing else about that at this price range that will give the same amount of smiles / £, do it

I drove one yesterday. I've spent a lot of time in M3's and Z3M's over the years and I must say I was quite overwhelmed by that engine in that car, they seem so well matched. It was, well, lovely really. It really seemed like it would never run out of revs in any particular gear, particularly 3rd and triple digits arrived very quickly indeed.
That's the offer on the table at the moment. I'm also considering a CSl but would only go for one out of the AU program but there haven't been any for weeks.
I think I could get them down to 30k but that's about it.
Depreciation wise - if low mileage 7/8 year old Z3M's are 13k then I think the Z4 is reasonably palatable at 30k.
I can't help feeling more drawn to the coupe though, even though a convertible seems the more flexible option, the coupe well, I think it looks the dogs and historically it carries it value better than the roadster (z3).

Ive an M roadster and love it to bits.......
It was in the garage the other day having a damp headlight replaced and i was given a rental 3.0 Si Coupe, it was a fantastic car and also quick, but quick is something and doing the same in the M is something different totally as you still have 3000+ revs to go before you run out of steam ;-)
The ///M is ace..........
The fuel consumption for the power is also very good too.

Depreciation happens, thats the main problem with buying cars less than 3 years old ( On the other hand it would be nice to have a fresh car thats still under warantee.
One attraction of the Z4m over say a 987 boxster S is that it will still be within warantee for a year or two - the porsche would need a warantee for sure as TBH the talk of engine failure and issues is a scary prospect on what should be a reliable and premium brand car.
Also toying with the idea of an older Z4 Alpina Roadster, I really like the styling - anyone whose driven one able to comment on the two?
ARGH i'm talking myself into one again hehhe

I can comment on the 3.0 and the Alpina but not the Z4M. The 3.0 is a nice drive and very smooth but for me the Alpina is streets ahead. Whereas the 3.0 feels more like a cruiser that will pick up its skirts when asked, the Alpina is a different beast altogether. Everything is much more urgent and agressive - I am sure the M is the same.
As a second hand buy I would seriously consider the Alpina. I use mine everyday so wanted something with comforts as well as performance. You don't need to worry about what spec you're buying as you do with the Z4 and the Z4M, the Alpina S comes with virtually every extra there is: satnav, leather, multi-disc CD, xenons etc. I bought mine through the dealer network as I wanted the warranty, if you are not bothered about that though you can pick one up for a couple of grand less. Around £23k for a 3 year old car with 300bph and all the kit you could want seems like a steal to me.

Where do you buy a lw mileage (sub 40K) Mcoupe for £13K. That sounds like the price of a high mileage (>100K) CAT D car to me.That's the offer on the table at the moment. I'm also considering a CSl but would only go for one out of the AU program but there haven't been any for weeks.

Dearly beloved,
If you are aflicted with the normal sinful nature of a "Pistonheader", you will forever regret going for a 3.0i instead of the M. It really is a differnt beast in so many ways. I paid £43K new for my Z4MR and do not regret it. £30k with 3Kmiles is a bargain.
Sin now, confess later.
The Reverend.

Totally agree, awesome car, have had Z4 3.0, M3 and TVR Tuscan and the Z4M is definately the best comprimise between all out power and practicality.
Depreciation is a big issue, however I paid £31k for mine with slightly higher milage than the one you're looking at but all of the kit (satnav etc etc), 9 months ago it would have been £48k, saved £17K by waiting a bit :-)!
