Is anyone else having problems with there z4m. Mine is back at the stealer for the 3rd time in 5 months. 1st problem was the ecu failing and was in the stealer for 3 days, next the glove box broke and there was a really bad rattle from the drivers side door, in for 1 day and the rattle is still there.
Now the lamba sensor has gone and is off the road for 2 days. Using Sytner Solihull at the moment but they dont seem to be that good, anyone had and better service from a dealer in the west midlands??

I had a dodgy lambda sensor replaced at 7000 miles, was chatting to someone who works for BMW at the BM3W day and he said they had done some testing and the cars seemed quite prone to carbon build up and this caused them to fail.

My car is now in the dealers with the engine out and in bits as my car started to makes a very loud ticking noise. Yes, I know the S54 engine can sound quite ticky but this is something different. Car has had the valves adjusted and still the problem remains, so its been cylinder head off and they are trying to find the problem.

Apart from that its fine!! tongue out

Still love it though, want it back ASAP!

Mine's been to the shop once to have the 1200 mile service....while it was in I asked them to look into a feint knocking sound coming from the front. My good friend DoctorD told me he had had a similar problem and it turned out to be the engine struts that needed tightening. They said they did it, but the noise is still there. I just haven't taken it in again yet to have it sorted as it's not really a big deal.

Sorry to hear you've had so many issues. How many miles have you done?

Sadly my Z4C went back to BMW because it spent 21 days off the road in 7 weeks.

I had really had enough. I did think that my car was a one off but this is now the 3rd Z4C that i have heard of with problems.

It's bizarre isn't it. Have people with the roadsters had loads of problems too??

You don't hear of many problems with roadsters.

The other car I know of on PH also had loom problems like mine.

I know of another Imola Red Z4MR which was returned and replaced by BMW due to a multitude of 'issues'.

Happy to put you in touch with the owner, who is happy with his replacement car.

Ha,

Mine just turned 10k miles during a hot lap of the Nurburgring (No 78 for the car for this year).

Other than a voracious appetite for fuel, I have no other problems to report touch wood.

Passenger airbag had to be replaced on my z4mr at about 5000 as the warning light was on. Just been in for oil service and now the roof will not go down, was fully functioning the night before at Bedford! Will be taking it back this week to get sorted.

Hi cheburator, thanks many for the passenger rides at the `ring on Sat 23 June. Must say the car was impressive and the only strange noises I could hear were probably coming from me! Cheers, Jon
