E36 Stereo Replacement

Looking for some advice. I have an M3Z 97 and the tape player has given up the ghost and I would like to replace it with something that will be compatable with the BMW multiplay in the book. Does anyone know of any headsets that will be a direct replacement and also control the existing CD changer?

Thats a difficult one as stereos have moved on a great deal since the original stereo was made. Try ebay for an old head unit but I would suggest getting rid of both and getting the most recent alpine or equivalent with an ipod attachment and you will never look back. i love the mp3 player ability and never listen to the radio as i have all my best songs to hand!

Yes I thought that would be the option. Oh well time to spend some cash then.
