Where can I get the best insurance deal - lower costs, protected ncb, etc. Current insurers won't take it on !?

Try A-Plan Insurance. My friend just renewed with them for £680 on his 2000 M5 (38 years old, full no claims, 13,000 miles pa, full business cover and protected ncb). That was a saving of over £100 on the next best quote.

He says there are no call centres, you deal with one person from start to finish, and the whole thing was done very proffesionally.

I'll certainly be trying them when mine is due for renewal.

+1 for A-Plan, used them last year and when the renewal came through they were £745, which was a hike of about £60.

I rang a few other companies and eventually came up with £690 from Norwich Union, but the excess charges were double A-Plan.

Rang A+Plan and said if they could match the Norwich Union premium they could have the business, half an hour later they rang back to say they could.

So got £690 for 25k miles pa, business use and protected no claims, hire car etc etc. But their compulsory excess charges are the lowest around that I've seen or been quoted with.
