Just thought i'd say hi. Just sold my GT3 and bought an M3 as I'll be racing a caterham and can't have two cars the wife hates. Had it a week 04, SMG, dark grey and it's fantastic, especially with traction control off, sport button on and on warp setting for the gear shift. I actually think i can drive it quite alot faster on the B roads than my GT3 as the suspension is quite a bit softer.

Any thing in particular i need to know if I am going to take it on the track? How do the discs hold out?

I'll post a pic as soon as the sun comes out.

Hi, welcome to the M division.
I bought one about 3 weeks ago. I must admit that i have never really owned any performance rear wheel drives before so i dont know about taking off any of the safety devices. if you remove the TC whats it like? does the back end start coming out? is it controllable on normal roads? and i have not used the 5 and 6 settings on smg as i have heard it puts alot of trans strain on. must admit i find setting 4 with sport mode ok but not perfect.
any advice on using the M?

Well, compared to the GT3, it seems realtively well behaved with the Traction control off. I find if you have it on 5 or 6 for the gear change you need to lift off a little bit to stop the change being savage, kind of smooths it out a bit.

Really need tog et it to a track for a day to get the hang of it before letting rip on the road.

that is funny coz i have to do the same in 3 and 4 settings as it seems jerky at best, slight lift off smoothes the change.
