Got car booked in with Cotswold BMW next week as car alarm keeps going off, only seems to happen when it's locked with the fob and not the key. It's under warranty so no worries there but any ideas what could be wrong ?

Are you parking it on a slope? I had trouble with the anti-tilt sensor triggering it all the time.

Which Cotswold?

Likely to be the compartment sensors front and rear-they've been updated many a time

Cotswold Cheltenham, was bought from Glos but live in Chelt so it's easier.

Not always happening on a slope, it's doing it at work now and there is no slope at all.

Locking it with the key seems to sort it rather then with the remote.

I dont think you set the full alarm when you lock with key, ultrasonics + shock sensors may not be enabled with a key lock.

I have just found out the reason for my alarm going off intermittantly. After hoovering out the centre roof sensor, I thought I had sussed it out, but No. That did not work. But what I have found is that by disconnecting the bonnet sensor the problem dissappeared and for a whole week the alarm has not set itself off.
On closer inspection you can see and feel where the sensor has rubbed a little
area in the bonnet that has caused the switch/sensor to move and activate itself.
I hope this will help somebody.

I will try to stick a little pad on this area so that it will depress the sensor/switch with the bonnet closed and work as normal.
