There will not be an SMG version. This has been dropped in favour of M-DCT which uses twin clutches to achieve much the same (although a lot smoother). Nobody knows as yet how it will drive.

Getting hold of a cancelled order or demo will be difficult I suspect. Many people on the waiting list have deferred their build slots until the M-DCT version is available. Deliveries will not start until mid-2008 so people will be already impatiently searching out any spare availability. Best speak to a few dealers and express your interest, but you may need to rely on spotting a used car later next year.

There may be a reasonable number of manual cars around at the end of the year. I'm going to wait for the paddle shift car too even though I could have had a manual car as early as October. The car is pretty pricy though all up.

Just got the brochure through on this - surprised there isnt an SMG! Althought it has the price of all the options, it doesnt state a price for the base car - anyone got any ideas?

Cheers
