Exhaust Noise - M3

I have had my M3 for a week now and I am extremely happy with it (great all rounder and in SP6 it blows me away!!).

I just wanted to check the exhaust sound with you guys on here, with the windows down it sounds very high pitched (raspey sound) when over 6000 rpm. Sould it be sounding like this or deeper? I am wondering whether the Exhaust needs checking out....

i've heard M3 (E46) at full pelt and it does sound rather "raspy". Get a new M6 or M5... i was behind an M6 yesterday as it pulled away from the light and had a small sex wee

The raspy noise is quite normal. Can be deepened by a new zorst but I love the noise personally. Sadly not familiar with e46 zorst so can't recomment. Try www.e46fanatics.com

Nice sound ain't it !!! Means you driving the car properley when your hearing it.

The raspiness is what makes the M3 IMO, absolutely love it

Thanks for all your replies it has set my mind at ease. Your right the sound does grow on you ( I wont be changing it), I even got my wife to drive it past me at full tilt so I could hear what it was like from the outside!! love it.
