Hi everybody,

Following on from my earlier post with some oink taking my E36 M3 drivers wing mirror.

I managed to locate a genuine replacement from ebay in matching colour.

Fortunately they have left the cable intact with 4 clips at the end hanging off the bodywork.

Does anybody know how to get inside the wing mirror to connect it, and how easy the job is ect.

Thanks again in advance much appreciated.

Gently prise the mirror glass out, undo the screws attaching the motor, attach the pins and re-assemble.

Many thanks for your reply, thats sounds pretty straight forward, though how do I exactly remove the glass in one piece?!

Cheers again

piece of plastic ideally as thin as credit card but not as flexible, or small screwdriver wrapped in cloth, be gentle, very, very, very gently prise away from the motor. The glass is held on with 4 clips around the centre of the mirror, start at the bottom edge, again be gentle. When the glass is off you will see the motor, 4 screws to undo then on the underside of the motor you will see 4 slots, these are where you plug the pins in but you need to get them in the right place to get the right up/down/left/right motion. To find this out you could trace the loom back through the door, the plug is usually tucked just behind the door card, give it a wiggle and on the plug you will see 1234 relating to which colour and on the motor, again 1234 so you can match accordingly.
