I had a guy wanting to buy my 3.25/1 diff out of my E30 M3 and so I could assist him with cost due to him being up in Yorkshire this weekend I had my new one fitted to allowhim to buy mine.

I was initially going to do all my mods at once....new cams, alpha N, carbon airbox, 3.64 diff and remap so I could really see the improvements all in one but had the diff fitted today!!!

I have got to say its the best £250 anyone can ever spend on their E30 M3. It makes the car so much quicker and the power is much better balanced through the gears.

Before anyone would consider chips, remaps or anything else get a 3.64/1 diff!!

Carry on
Chris

I did work it out using

www.unixnerd.demon.co.uk/revs.html

a while ago but the source I used for the ratios has vanished.

If I remember correctly the difference between a 3.25/1 and 3.64/1 is around 400 revs at 70mph so would be around 3,300 revs and reduce the top speed to 145 mph. To be honest the car wouldnt have reached the top speed achievable (167 mph) from the old ratios as the car wouldnt have the power to get to 7,000 revs in 5th gear!

All from memory so it could be a touch wrong.

I wont be driving it on motorways so wont be cruising at 100mph.
