Hi Guys, can someone tell me a bit more about this feature, how much does it wear the clutch, how you do it, does a warranty include burnt out clutches. How good is it really, many thanks, Chris.

It's a bit pointless IMO.

DSC off, select S6, then hold the gear shifter forward, accelerate and let go of the shifter.

There are supposedly two modes - "burnout" where it spins the wheels and "launch" where it restricts wheelspin as much as possible. In 4 years of owning a SMG car I never quite worked out how to get one or the other. It's something to do with where the accelerator is when you let go of the shifter, or how fast you kick the accelerator, or whether you use the kickdown button or not. hehe

As to the warranty, if the car exhibited severe wear on a clutch and it was down to abuse, they'd refuse to change it under warranty. They can check the counter but I gather this is an involved task and rarely done.

It's easy to spot an abused/worn clutch, SMG or manual, so I guess warranty claims would be handled just like any other car.

Thanks John, I'm picking it up this week with a bit of luck, she is awesome, can't wait. Are there any other things I need to be looking out for when buying second hand, she has only done 28k, thanks, Chris.

Privately or from a dealer? Check the rear coil springs aren't snapped as these break quite a lot. Running in service done before 1500 miles, and ensuring all engine recalls have been done are two important things I guess.
