Wanted another opinion, my M3 evo just failed its MOT due to leaking power steering. Actually they said it was ''gushing out''... if this were the case surely i would not have any power steering ?

I think they might be trying to pull a fast one, is there anyway i can check what they are saying is true or not ?

In between the inlet manifold and air filter housing,if you look down through you will see a cap-that is the resevoir for the power steering-not the easiest to check.

If they can see a leak which is active ie dripping then they can fail it-if its just wet, obvious leak but isnt dripping then you cant prove its leaking and cant be failed.

If its gushing out then very quickly you will get a high pitched whinning from the pump and the steering will go heavy...
