Is this true?

I've seen a friend's order which shows the base car at £49,680 to which you have to add £50 reg fee, £300 VED and £592 delivery, making £50,622.

Base car includes leather and sat nav.

Can anyone confirm this?

Why do they bother quoting a price to which extra things have to be added? Surely it would be more helpful to quote the OTR price and itemise if for anyone who gives a sh!t?

I bet that when spec'd with SMG-DSG, EDC, 19s, Logic 7 it'll be £55k.

I have a feeling (-hope so that I might one day afford one) that after the inital hoo-hah there will be £10k wiped off most nearly new ones.

In 2001- £45k bought you a fully spec'd E46 M3. 6yrs on you might expect £50k.

Just cancelled order for the new M3 because of exactly what your saying,ZM Coupes are being hit right now,so popped over to MPower to have a look what the general opinion is, re the new M3.Don't get me wrong i know its going to be the daddy!!! Decided to wait for the hoo ha to calm down and then get a nice spec on one etc. In the mean time i'm just gonna sit back and enjoy my E92 335d.(think i might just be getting old)

Yes, I've just had a look at BM3W and the concensus seems to be the car is over-priced. However, does one really need all the silly toys that take the car to £55K?

The 'base' car at £50K includes all the real essentials - including sat nav.

After being on the waiting list for three years I really am unsure what to do. The year one depreciation hits of £15k on a Z4M or £30K on an M6 have scared the pants off me.

Audi RS4 residuals have held up pretty strong so I don't see why the same won't be true of the new M3?

As far as I can see the M5 residuals are not too bad so why should the M3 be so different?

Hi guys. I've just specced my car - Sept. delivery - and it came to £55k. All I added to the basic spec (which does include satnav. and litronic headlights) were electronic damper control, 19" wheels, heated seats, and a few other minor bibs and bobs. Didn't go over the top, so basically, the car is £10k more than similar spec. prev. generation M3.

Re. depreciation IMO you'll be waiting longer than a year to make a saving buying used. In first year while there's a waiting list and limited supply prices will stay very strong, as they did with current model. I had one of the first of those and sold it back to the dealer for very close to list price a year on.They in turn got list price for it. It's not usually until year two that prices start to drop on M3s, as they start to become more readily available, and I am expecting to do the same with the new model.
