I finally made the move and got myself a silver 2001 M5

Have I done the right thing ???????? have thought about it for toooo long and after reading these forums and getting good info on what to buy.

It’s silver 2001 M5 with 75,000 ……… I don’t really know anything about these cars, only that I have wanted one for a very long time.

The only agonising thing here is waiting for it to be prepared
Its going into BMW for a oil service ,the wheels are going to Spit and Polish and some minor scratch on the body and a very small dent under the spoiler.

Cant stop grinning

I had one of these from new in 2001. Probably the best every day car I ever had.

do a search for the MAF test on M5board and do it (75K car could well be in need of replacement if not done already), so you know you are running with all your power. If not, £200 for VW spares and youll have the full 400 ponies - it's well documented over there.

Awesome car, good luck!!

Thanks for the comments and feedback so far thumbup

Day 1 ....picking up the car
Still not sure if I was doing the right thing buying this car
As I drove into the car yard there it was,,,,,,, looking absolutely awesome
Did the paperwork, that couldn’t get done quick enough, paid the balance on my debit card …… never spent that much on a debit card before eek
Had a few issues with the car that I will not go into detail as I want to see if they will stay true to there word that the problems will be sorted

I have always wanted a V8 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, have always wanted an M5
Now have both and haven’t stopped grinning yet
All I can say is that I just wish I had done this a long time ago

I've had mine for just a month, and came from a 428bhp cosworth.

Cosworth was much quicker, but the M5 is so decieving......the refinement gives you a false sence of speed and acceleration.

I'm over the moon with mine, and it's a low milage 34,000 miles from new.

Intend to keep this very close to standard...Unlike the Cosworth which sold on here.
