Electric window malfunction

Hi everybody,

First post!

Some smuck has clipped my drivers wing mirror (E36 M3 Evo), whilst reversing past it & leaving it hanging off.

I was able to clip it back onto the bodywork though both wing mirrors are dead as a dingo's donga!

Is this a quick fix financially & time wise??

Check your fuses, it could have pulled the wires out of the motor and earthed them together.

that happened on mine and that was the fault as well.

Many thanks for your comments guys......................I did try the fuse but no luck.

To make matters more clinical some chav or chav's have prised the unit off leaving the four connectors freestyling in mid air.

One police officer seems to think 3 guys were stop searched & had a blue wing mirror on them & another officer says they cant confirm and will make further enquiries. So will have to hold fire, Im happy to get it back & leave it there as I was going to be selling her next month & dont need the local hoods targeting me.

I presume I will need to buy a new one if its not recovered as it will be difficult to locate a 2nd hand one & genuine of course!
