E39 M5 Mods...
Discussion
Hi All
A new work car is calling and i'm pretty sure it's going to be an E39 M5. Knowing my habit of upgrading cars, it won't be long before I do something more to this too.
Do not fear, I'm not talking about 'Max Power' 'style'upgrades here, just better breathing, remap etc.
Has anyone done this to theirs? Any recommendations would be superb.
Cheers,
DTC

Hi mate!I used to hav a M5 before my CSL and i did some bit's and bobs to it!Would deffo reccomend the Bilstein PSS9 suspension for a start.Obviously AP brakes are excellent but costly if you cant really justify them.I had the Supersprint x-pipe and Eisenmann Le Mans back box on mine which sounded feckin ace but for any kind of power increase i think you would be looking at getting Supersprint headers(Manifold)and SS 100 cell cats and then getting someone like BBR(Morego)to remap it for you!Yer probably looking at around 35-40bhp with that but it's all money at the end of the day.You can always supercharge it but if ye had all that money in the first place then you might as well get a new M5 eh?Hope this helps...

... look on M5board.com. Great place to see 500 - 600+ modified cars. It's predominantly US based but some reckon on getting around 600hp but the list of modifications is very large and very very expensive - read a post a while back of some chap spending somewhere around $45k for his mods.
