Hi All,

I've been looking for an E46 M3 Coupe since I sold my E36 Evo Convertible a few weeks ago. I've looked at quite a few over the last few weeks including one on Saturday having placed a holding deposit over the phone. After a 3 hour drive to the Bristol area I was disappointed to find out the car hadn't been prepared in any way, shape or form. There were stains on the carpet in the boot, missing parts in the tool box, cigarette ash from the previous owner all over the leather, thick dirt and grime on the interior handles, and the engine bay was a state. I was expecting a "wow" factor and had been looking forward to seeing the car for days. The BMW Salesman was quite shocked when I told him I wouldn't be purchasing the car......I was just put off instantly.

I got home around 3pm and thought I'd take a quick look on the internet. To my surprise and joy I found an E46 M3 Coupe "Silverstone" Edition at a fairly local BMW dealer. I was at the dealership within 30 mins. The car had only just come in and was still on a ramp undergoing the AUC checks. The car was/is immaculate, because of the time (around 5pm) I left the dealership but was back first thing on Sunday (yesterday), I had no issues putting down a desposit.

I pickup in approx 10 days as BMW need to complete the checks and I still need to take it for a test drive!

I'm very excited, although I had an E36 M3 Evo I've always wanted an E46. I'll upload pictures once I've picked up the car

Hi,

I believe approx 200 Special Edition "Silverstones" were made - not sure though. Its Silverstone Blue (same if not similar colour to your M5 ) with Estoril Blue Nappa Leather. Sat Nav with TV and Text, Bluetooth, 19" Alloys, Harmon Hardon etc... Its a 2005/05 model with only 7500 on the clock. Looks great with only 1 owner from new, who really has looked after it.

I'm planning on picking up on 31st March, as I'm test driving next Saturday and then away on business until 29th. I can't wait, I'm currently drive a terrible company car smash

Stu - if you don't mind me asking what price did you pay and did you manage to get a good discount on the price?

Hi Chris,

I didn't get a great discount for a number of reasons, 1) special edition car, only a few made 2) only arrived at the dealership a day or two before.

However, I did get a few "freebie" eg new mats, oil service when required etc.

If it was a "normal" M3, I would have pushed for a big discount based on the new model coming out and depreciation.

Nice one....However, you side stepped the price question?

I wish mine had that sort of low miles again and i'm interested how much it would cost me to change...So roughly how much was it?

Cheers
Ian
