The BMW M Power Club meet in Enfield, Middx once a month, but not my scene. For more info contact rbaxter@btinternet.com. he is the secretary and events organiser.
Also log onto M5board.com and go into the forum for E39's.

I don't know, never been, but they probably talk more about cleaning their cars for shows than driving them on decent roads across Europe or the UK. Prefer meets via M5Board.com
Perhaps you should come and find out for yourself Bellaire302, plenty of us are ring regulars in E30 M3s, also lots of interesting cars turn up including batmobiles and 2002 turbo's.
To be honest we are totally the opposite to what you probably think.
The next meet i believe is tom 14th march at crews hill
Can't compare since I've never been to any M power meets.
I've been to lots of M5board meets though and the format is usually to meet in a nice hotel (e.g. The Grove, Runnymede, Langshott Manor, Danesfield House) and talk bollox in the car park for an hour.
This is followed by lunch and sometimes a drive on the surrounding B-roads. More fun than it sounds.
We certainly like to keep things nice and civilised, although lots of revving seems to be a common occurance.
