Anyone else got a deposit on a new M3 yet?

I put down 2k a month ago,

Info is non existant, so any links would be useful.

I have been told to expect a price between 43 and 58k!!!!!

If you put down a deposit two months ago, you are way down the queue. There are loads of people who put down deposits two or three years ago. Some will, however, drop out.

Expect a price of around £50k before options. It is expected to be shown, in concept form at least, at Geneva next month.

My Dealer told me they only had 3 deposits about a month ago. Saw an article on the car and think it looks really bland. I was told they have done that on purpose for some reason. Prefer to put my cash into an M5, M6 or CSL instead

Depends how your spec it - as always BMW will rip you on the options. Personally if it's over £50k I'd go for a nearly new M6 instead (but then I am an old fogey). Lots of info over at bm3w.co.uk (at least until March 7th).

Most alleged 'spy-pics' on the web seem to be of a 4-door version...

This is from a German car magazine and seems fairly realistic even if photo-shopped...

£55k with reasonable spec I guess. M6 is better value or even 996ttS

over 2 yearsyikes that's a long wait...but if you "used" to also a E46 M3 I think the new car is very nice with a big V8 under the bonnet...hope you get it soon and tell us all about the differences in feel and build compared to a E46 M3.

I'll certainly try my best!

My old M3 was a great piece of kit... it had a power upgrade by West Tuning also (Extra 35bhp and de-limited). I was always aware that there was a long wait for the new M3 and to be honest i didn't care... I've usually got 2 or 3 cars 'on order' at any one time, always cars with big waiting lists. This way i can take delivery, put a few thousand miles on them and sell whilst theres a profit to be had. Worst case scenario, i'll break even... not bad for 6-12months in the lastest 'must have'. In reality i'm an enthusiast and love to drive the latest cars but (like all of us) HATE to lose loads of money everytime i sell!

I've got a funny feeling i may end up keeping the new M3 for a bit longer than i originally planned though!

Can't wait.

Because they'll make more money selling M sport look a like kits on the lower models, something that was possible on the last M3.

very niceyes I like the sound too almost a crossing between a M3 CSL and a can-am car? I like the sound, now waiting for the real sound( my Hartge 5.0 V8 sounds really nice tooyes) but that's family so related
