I picked up a 9 month old E60 M5 at the weekend and very happy apart from one issue, the front passenger door will not unlock. When I picked the car up I noticed the passenger door would not open until I pulled on the handle a couple of times. As this happened every time I thought it might be set not to release with the drivers door. Had a look at the manual and decided this could be part of the set-up so ensured that I changed in the i-drive the locking setting so all doors lock and release together. When I got home last night the door would not open at all even though it did earlier in the day, the button pops up but the door handle on the inside and out just dose not work. Now I am sure this is a fault but before I go running to my dealer I wanted to check that there is nothing I am missing so as to avoid any potential embarrassment.

Not heard of this before, so book it in for fixing.

It's a warranty fix item. My right rear door would not autolock and they changed out both the motor and the control module to fix it. Annoying little thing but don't let it spoil your experience.

I had that problem with one of my M3s. It was a mechanical issue.
