Strange M3 on M4 Sunday night...
Discussion
Driving back down the M4 towards London last night, i passed and was passed by an odd looking M3. It had widened front and rear arches out to about the same width as the wing mirrors and deep dish alloys that filled the arches (bloomin wide!)
It had a black roof and boot (looked like CSL roof and boot). The car was silver, with what looked like a standard M3 front bumper.
It had a very loud exhasut and what looked like a roll cage fitted.
Anyone got any ideas?! It was just badged M3 below the rear right light.
First thought were that it was some kind of GT variant.
Second thought was that it might not even be an M3!

Chav?
It did look similar to that, but the arches were MUCH wider. The tyres were some of the widest i've seen on a road car, huge. The car was silver in colour, apart from the black boot and roof. Can't remember if there were any bonnet vents. There was no additional rear spoiler, just the lip on the boot. (too dark to see if this was moulded a la CLS or normal)
Hmm the only M3 that I can think of that comes close to what you describe would be this beast

I know the car your talking about, I think it's the one that toastboy put the pictures up of. It looked like it was a project, but not finished and defo had the CSL bootlid (or copy).
I had a little race with it in my E46 M3, coming off a roundabout near Heathrow. It was really loud and must be an actual M3 as I was quicker, but only because I had the traction control off and got on the power earlier.
