E46 M3 exhaust etc
Discussion
Whats the best exhaust for an E46 M3 chaps? Supersprint.. Milltek ? other ?
Also, GruppeM airbox (I have seen for myself the different they make on other cars, never done one on an M3 though) or the pipercross copy?
I'm not really interested in more power.. (oh, the irony), more a nice noise, CSL like in fact.
Also, is there a good dedicated BMW M3 or M forum now BM3W has gone?
Cheers,
Charlie.

BM3W is still here
I would only really ever go for the Miltek, its a good quality exhaust with alot of R&D work done by Thorney Motorsport (BMW Tuners)Remember its an M3 not XR3 so i would only look at the top end of the market. Miltek is expensive at over £2000 but i would say it is the most developed.

I have registered over at BM3W
Good site. Searching through it last night, gave me a lead that Thorney Motorsport had some "rocking horse sh1te" APs which are now reserved and going on the beast in in two weeks.

Daz, what would you be doing with your old ones? (if they fit)
I had a Milltek on my last e36 and though the build quality was impressive it was very noisy and this was even after speaking to the people at Milltek who assured me it was only a touch noisier than standard (like hell it was). The boom at 2500rpm made it hard to live with and I'm not the only person to have found this out the hard way.
However when you're on a country road giving it some beans it is a glorious sound. IMO for daily use - avoid.

AP BBK on the front resulting in current discs and pads probably being binned (they've been over heated far too often hence the safety upgrade). I was going to keep just the calipers for a few months incase I get a problem. Although if you're interested I'll ask how much life is left in the discs and pads for you (not sure if the set up will fit under 16s?).
Rears are just having new discs and pagid blues. Old discs and pads again to be binned.
