... something to keep for a short period instead?

I'm mulling over purchasing the G87 M2 as I want something "special", with a view to keeping it.

If it’s weekend car, I would be looking at an F or G series CS. The weight, screens, and torque-converter gearbox don’t strike me as things that will age well vs other cars in that space.

F87s are keepers IMO, with the Comp and CS likely to both be future classics. My own car has actually gone up by a few thousand euros since I bought it a few years ago.

G87 just has too many downsides: Lego styling, and more or less just a budget M4. Not a huge fan of the M4 either, but I'd probably take it over the G87.

Two year lease finished on my daily driver recently. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't think of anything better if you're looking for newish and need rear seats.

Not sure it's special, just a great car.
